About COVID-19 rapid & PCR tests near me

Get both a rapid and PCR test done at the same time at our Nao Medical clinics. Timelines for the test results may vary as COVID-19 rapid antigen test can be in a lesser time than a standard COVID-19 PCR test.

If you have time sensitive needs for each test please book your appointment in advance or check with our Nao Medical team to find the best time to book your test.

Other services offered: antibody tests

Aside from rapid & PCR COVID tests, we also offer antibody tests, whether you have an insurance plan or not. If you test positive, it does not mean that the virus is currently present in your body. Instead, it means that you may have gotten infected before but your immune system was able to develop antibodies to fight it off.

To learn more about antibody tests, you can check the department of health website. To get tested, contact us to schedule an appointment.

FAQ

You should get tested for COVID-19 if:

  • you have COVID-19 symptoms
  • you have been exposed to or been in close contact with a person who you know or suspect is infected with COVID-19
  • close contact means within six feet for 15 minutes or more
  • the COVID Alert NY app informs you that you’ve been exposed to the virus from close contact.
  • you need to be screened for workplaces, schools, or events
  • you are planning to travel or arriving from travel
  • you are advised to get tested by a healthcare professional or a public health official

How long should I wait to take a COVID-19 test after exposure to a known or suspected case?

You should not wait to take a COVID-19 test after exposure to a known or suspected case, regardless of your vaccination status. You need to get tested at least 5 days after exposure or earlier if you have COVID symptoms.

Are there any at-home tests for COVID-19?

Yes, there are at-home tests for COVID-19 that let you do the specimen collection yourself. For more accurate results from a healthcare professional, get tested at a testing center near you.

What are the different types of COVID-19 tests?

There are at-home tests for COVID-19. You can order free tests from COVIDtests.gov or from your local health department. Home COVID tests are also available in pharmacies, retail stores, and authorized online sellers.

How accurate are COVID-19 PCR tests?

COVID-19 PCR tests are accurate and are considered the gold standard for COVID testing. This type of test is more sensitive and is mostly processed by health professionals in a laboratory.

How accurate are rapid COVID-19 tests?

Rapid COVID-19 tests are accurate enough to detect the presence of the virus in symptomatic individuals. However, if it shows a negative result despite the presence of COVID-19 symptoms, an RT-PCR test is needed to confirm it.

Can the tests determine which COVID-19 variants I have antibodies to?

COVID tests cannot determine which COVID-19 variants you have antibodies to. Besides, antibodies from previous COVID infections are not likely to protect you from any type of COVID variant.

Is it recommended to take antibody tests after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine?

It is not recommended to take antibody tests after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine to test for immunity. It is also not recommended for use to assess a person’s need for vaccination or quarantine.

What type of COVID-19 test do I need to travel?

If you’re planning a trip, it’s important to check with both your airline and your destination to understand what testing program they require travelers to follow. Around 72 hours of departure, or much before your day of travel, check again.

Read up on airline notices, new regulations and entry requirements before driving to the airport to board domestic or international flights. Some countries require quarantine for 14 days. This 14-day quarantine requirement is mandated in Hawaii.

What’s the difference between the standard COVID-19 PCR test and the COVID-19 RT-PCR test?

The RT-PCR test is a polymerase chain reaction type of NAAT test (or Nucleic Acid Amplification Test). It can detect RNA from the SARS-COV-2 virus that causes COVID-19.

This is different from the 15-minute Rapid Antigen Test and the COVID-19 Antibody Test. Those check for antigens and antibodies against the spike protein of the virus respectively.

The test itself can provide results in as little as 72 hours and is not FDA approved, but has been granted EUA (Emergency Use Authorization).

Does my insurance cover the COVID-19 RT-PCR NAAT test?

Insurance coverage varies based on your personal  plan or insurance provider(s). Nao Medical accepts most major insurance plans. You can click here to check the insurance providers we accept.

Can I pay for my COVID-19 RT-PCR test for travel without insurance?

If you have no insurance, we provide our services without Insurance for self-pay patients, giving you the care when you need it most.

My daughter came in with stomach pain, and your doctor was able to diagnose that she probably had appendicitis. I took her to the emergency room, and she did have to have her appendix removed. Thank you so much for your help.

The staff and the doctors were all very kind and caring. I was very worried about my child’s health. I appreciate your clinic being open on Saturdays. This saved us a trip to the ER, which can be scary for a child. Thank you again!

My visits have been fantastic both times I’ve gone. The woman at the front desk was courteous and professional, and prompt. The nurse was excellent. Same treatment as the front desk and the smoothest phlebotomist going. The doctor was great, calm, thorough, polite, and knowledgeable. I wish he were my GP. Overall? 11 out of 10.
