About MetroPlus insurance for urgent care

In most cases, the out-of-pocket cost of visiting an urgent care center will cost less than a trip to the emergency room. But it’s still recommended to check if the clinic you choose offers services that are part of your insurance coverage.

Usually, insurance providers cover urgent care. However, patients will be expected to pay a co-payment, a co-insurance, or both. Get in touch with your MetroPlus insurance provider to find out if the urgent care service you need is covered.

Other insurances accepted:

We accept most major insurance plans. If you have no insurance, we can still provide urgent care for self-pay patients, giving you the care and medical assistance you need when you need it most. Learn more about the insurance plans we accept here.

About our urgent care service

With Nao Medical's urgent care, you can either walk in or make an appointment ahead of time. You can visit our urgent care or walk-in medical clinics near you during operating hours. We're open seven days a week and closed only if NYS declares an emergency.

Before booking your appointment please note:

Ensure that your insurance benefits include urgent care or contact us to confirm if your individual/group insurance plan is eligible for use. Please dial 911 immediately if your medical problem appears to be life-threatening.

FAQ

What is the difference between emergency and urgent care?

The difference between emergency and urgent care is that emergency rooms in hospitals treat life-threatening conditions and injuries, whereas urgent care clinics treat illnesses and injuries that require immediate medical attention but are non-life-threatening.

Are urgent care centers open after hours?

Yes. Most of our urgent care centers are open after hours, making health care more accessible for all residents in NYC.

Should I make an appointment for Urgent Care?

Not necessarily. Most urgent cares accept walk-in patients. But if you want shorter wait times, you can book an appointment through phone or online.

Can I go to urgent care for non-emergency?

Yes. You can go to urgent care for consultations, physicals, primary care, lab tests, and more.

Can I go to urgent care near me to get tested for COVID?

Yes. You can go to urgent care to get an RT-PCR test, a rapid antigen test, or a COVID antibody test.

Can I pay for urgent care appointment without insurance?

If you have no insurance, we provide our services without insurance for self-pay patients, giving you the care when you need it most.

My daughter came in with stomach pain, and your doctor was able to diagnose that she probably had appendicitis. I took her to the emergency room, and she did have to have her appendix removed. Thank you so much for your help.

I’ve been to Nao Medical, I think, three times, and their staff is delightful. If you are in dire pain, they take you in as soon as possible, if not sooner. The offices and exam rooms are spotless. All of the medical staff is very knowledgeable, patient, and understanding. I highly recommend it.

My visits have been fantastic both times I’ve gone. The woman at the front desk was courteous and professional, and prompt. The nurse was excellent. Same treatment as the front desk and the smoothest phlebotomist going. The doctor was great, calm, thorough, polite, and knowledgeable. I wish he were my GP. Overall? 11 out of 10.

The staff and the doctors were all very kind and caring. I was very worried about my child’s health. I appreciate your clinic being open on Saturdays. This saved us a trip to the ER, which can be scary for a child. Thank you again!
