What is an urgent care service for immigration?

As part of the application process for a green card, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) requires a medical exam. Our team has three certified immigration specialist doctors who are qualified to complete this specialized exam and provide you with properly formatted documentation and paperwork.

About our urgent care service

With Nao Medical's urgent care, you can either walk-in or make an appointment ahead of time. You can visit our urgent care or walk-in medical clinics near you during operating hours. We're open seven days a week and closed only if NYS declares an emergency.

Before booking your appointment please note:

Ensure that your insurance benefits include urgent care or contact us to confirm if your individual/group insurance plan is eligible for use. Please dial 911 immediately if your medical problem appears to be life-threatening.

FAQ

Why does immigration require a physical?

Immigration requires a physical examination to screen applicants for medical conditions that are of significant concern to the US government and to protect public health and safety.

Does immigration test for STDS?

Applicants aged 15 years old and up are required by the USCIS to get tested for syphilis and gonorrhea. Applicants 14 and under only need to be tested if they have symptoms of syphilis or gonorrhea.

What medical tests are needed for immigration?

Immigration medicals will include a medical history review, physical exam, chest x-ray, and blood tests. During the physical exam, the doctor will check the eyes, ears, nose, throat, extremities, heart, lungs, abdomen, lymph nodes, and skin of applicants.

What should I bring to immigration medical?

For your immigration medical exam, you must bring your Form I-693, medical examination report and vaccination record, and a government-issued ID (with photo). For applicants 14 years old and below, bring any document or identification with your name, birthdate, birth place, and your parents’ names.

How long is a medical exam good for immigration?

A medical exam for immigration is good for two years after the civil surgeon signs the Form I-693.

Are urgent care centers open after hours?

Yes. Most of our urgent care centers are open after hours, making health care more accessible for all residents in NYC.

Can I pay for my urgent care appointment without insurance?

If you have no insurance, we provide our services without insurance for self-pay patients, giving you the care when you need it most.

My daughter came in with stomach pain, and your doctor was able to diagnose that she probably had appendicitis. I took her to the emergency room, and she did have to have her appendix removed. Thank you so much for your help.

The staff and the doctors were all very kind and caring. I was very worried about my child’s health. I appreciate your clinic being open on Saturdays. This saved us a trip to the ER, which can be scary for a child. Thank you again!

My visits have been fantastic both times I’ve gone. The woman at the front desk was courteous and professional, and prompt. The nurse was excellent. Same treatment as the front desk and the smoothest phlebotomist going. The doctor was great, calm, thorough, polite, and knowledgeable. I wish he were my GP. Overall? 11 out of 10.

I’ve been to Nao Medical, I think, three times, and their staff is delightful. If you are in dire pain, they take you in as soon as possible, if not sooner. The offices and exam rooms are spotless. All of the medical staff is very knowledgeable, patient, and understanding. I highly recommend it.
