About our urgent care service

With Nao Medical's urgent care, you can either walk in or make an appointment ahead of time. You can visit our urgent care or walk-in medical clinics near you during operating hours. We're open seven days a week and closed only if NYS declares an emergency.

Before your urgent care eye appointment

When you are experiencing any type of eye infection, it is best practice to wash your hands often, stop wearing your contact lens, and book an appointment with Nao Medical as your urgent care provider.

FAQ

What should you not do before an eye exam?

Before an eye exam, keep your eyes rested and don’t overexert them. Avoid coffee or alcoholic drinks. Make sure to bring your prescription eyeglasses and contact lenses if you have them.

What should I bring to an eye exam?

Before an eye exam, make a log of your symptoms and take note of any medications you are currently taking. It will help to know about your family’s eye health history. Make sure to also bring insurance documents to your appointment.

When should I go to the doctor for eye pain?

You should go to a doctor if your eye pain is unusually severe or if your vision suddenly changes. You should also seek medical care if your eye pain is accompanied by fever, headache, light sensitivity, nausea, or vomiting.

How do I know if my eye is infected?

Your eye may be infected if it is painful, itchy, sensitive to light, tender to the touch, and watery. Your eye may also be infected if it feels like there is a foreign object in it, if it has a painful lump on the eyelid, or if you feel a burning sensation that makes it difficult to keep the eye open.

How do you know if an eye infection is viral or bacterial?

An eye infection is commonly viral if it has a white or clear discharge. A bacterial eye infection, on the other hand, has a green or yellow pus discharge.

Can I pay for my urgent care appointment without insurance?

If you have no insurance, we provide our services without insurance for self-pay patients, giving you care when you need it most.
