What is a concussions

A concussion is often caused by a bump, blow, or jolt to the head, causing chemical changes or damaging brain cells in the brain. A strong hit to the body that causes the brain to bounce or move rapidly in the skull can also cause this type of traumatic brain injury. Concussions are often non-life-threatening but the effects can be serious.
