What is urgent care service for blood work?

Urgent care clinics allow you to do blood work tests outside of a regular doctor's business hours. This means you can get blood work or lab tests at convenient hours or days that work with your schedule. With Nao Medical's urgent care, you can either walk-in or make an appointment ahead of time during operating hours. We're open seven days a week and closed only if NYS declares an emergency.

What is a blood work test?

A blood work test helps medical providers to check your health and blood status. This can be used to check general or specific conditions that may affect your body so they can be treated or prevented.

FAQ

How often should I get my blood work done?

The doctor may recommend a CBC and BMP every year at your annual physical. Other blood tests will depend on your age, lifestyle, and medical history.

Are urgent care centers open after hours?

Yes. Most of our urgent care centers are open after hours, making health care more accessible for all residents in NYC.

Do I need to fast before a blood test?

In most cases, your doctor will require you to fast for at least 12 hours before your scheduled blood test.

What should I not do before a blood test or how do I prepare before hand?

Before a blood test, you should not engage in physical activities that may exhaust you, such as strenuous exercise and sexual activities. Smoking and drinking alcohol may also affect the results of your test so it is best to avoid them before your blood work.

Should I make an appointment for urgent care?

Not necessarily. Most urgent cares accept walk-in patients. But if you want shorter wait times, you can book an appointment through phone or online.

How long does it take to receive blood test results?

Blood test results may take a few minutes to several days, depending on the type of blood test you get. The health care provider will inform you about when the results will be available and what to expect regarding the results.

Does insurance plan cover all urgent care services?

Most urgent care services are covered by insurance. Please contact your insurance plan provider directly for specific questions related to your coverage, deductible, & plan.

Can I go to urgent care without insurance?

Yes. If you need urgent care and you have no insurance, we offer affordable rates for all health care services we offer.
