How can people reduce the chance of getting infected?
To reduce possible infection:
- Use insect repellent lotions or creams
- Wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts
- Sleep in air-conditioned rooms with screened windows
- Use mosquito bed nets
- Get vaccinated against the virus
Who should get the Japanese encephalitis vaccine?
The JE vaccine is recommended for people living in or moving to JE-endemic countries and for frequent travelers.
