FAQ
What is an example of a dislocation?
An example of dislocation is when the bone of your arm slips or pops out of the joint on your shoulder. Dislocation often happens on the knees, hips, ankles, and shoulders.
How do you treat a dislocation?
To treat a dislocation, the area needs to undergo RICE (rest, ice, compression, and elevation). If it needs more attention, it may need repositioning, a splint or cast, medication, or surgery.
Is a dislocation a fracture?
A dislocation is different from a fracture. Dislocations are joints and bones separating or moving out of their normal positions. Fractures, on the other hand, are bones breaking.
How do you know if a bone is out of place?
You’ll know if a bone is out of place when the joint looks deformed, when the area is numb or tingling, swollen, discolored, difficult to move, and very painful.
What happens if a dislocation goes untreated?
If a dislocation goes untreated, it can damage the surrounding structures, causing restricted movement and intense pain, making it difficult or impossible to perform simple tasks.
What is the difference between emergency and pediatric urgent care?
The difference between emergency and pediatric urgent care is that emergency rooms in hospitals treat life-threatening conditions and injuries, whereas pediatric urgent care clinics treat illnesses and injuries that require immediate medical attention but are non-life-threatening.
Are your pediatric urgent care centers open after hours?
Yes. Most of our pediatric urgent care centers are open after hours, making health care more accessible for all residents in NYC.
Should I make an appointment for pediatric urgent care?
Not necessarily. Most ( pediatric) urgent cares accept walk-in patients. But if you want shorter wait times, you can book an appointment through phone or online.
Can I go to pediatric urgent care for non-emergency?
Yes. You can go to pediatric urgent care for consultations, physicals, primary care, lab tests, and more. We aim to help you and your little at every step of their health care journey.
Can I pay for pediatric urgent care appointment without insurance?
If you have no insurance, we provide our services without insurance for self-pay patients, giving you the care when you need it most.

My daughter came in with stomach pain, and your doctor was able to diagnose that she probably had appendicitis. I took her to the emergency room, and she did have to have her appendix removed. Thank you so much for your help.

The staff and the doctors were all very kind and caring. I was very worried about my child’s health. I appreciate your clinic being open on Saturdays. This saved us a trip to the ER, which can be scary for a child. Thank you again!

I’ve been to Nao Medical, I think, three times, and their staff is delightful. If you are in dire pain, they take you in as soon as possible, if not sooner. The offices and exam rooms are spotless. All of the medical staff is very knowledgeable, patient, and understanding. I highly recommend it.

I would like to thank a receptionist for being beyond kind and helpful. I came this Saturday morning, and she was the only one at the desk. Thank you so much for being a beautiful positive person. All the staff was also excellent.

My visits have been fantastic both times I’ve gone. The woman at the front desk was courteous and professional, and prompt. The nurse was excellent. Same treatment as the front desk and the smoothest phlebotomist going. The doctor was great, calm, thorough, polite, and knowledgeable. I wish he were my GP. Overall? 11 out of 10.
