FAQ

What is the first aid for cuts and wounds?

The first aid for cuts and wounds is to apply gentle pressure on the affected area using a clean cloth or bandage. Elevate the wound to stop bleeding. Clean the wound with mild soap and rinse well with water, keeping it under running water to help minimize the risk of infection.

Does itching mean healing?

Itching could mean healing. During the healing process, the nerves in the affected area are stimulated, sending signals to the brain that perceives them as itchy.

How do you tell if a cut is infected?

A cut is infected if:

  • it is draining pus or a cloudy fluid
  • a pimple or yellowish crust forms
  • the scab grows wider
  • there is redness around the wound
  • pain seems to be getting worse
  • swelling gets worse

Can I go to urgent care for cuts and wounds?

Yes. You can go to urgent care for cut or wound care and treatment, consultations, physicals, primary care, lab tests, and more.

What is the difference between emergency and pediatric urgent care?

The difference between emergency and pediatric urgent care is that emergency rooms in hospitals treat life-threatening conditions and injuries, whereas pediatric urgent care clinics treat illnesses and injuries that require immediate medical attention but are non-life-threatening.

Are your pediatric urgent care centers open after hours?

Yes. Most of our pediatric urgent care centers are open after hours, making health care more accessible for all residents in NYC.

Should I make an appointment for pediatric urgent care?

Not necessarily. Most ( pediatric) urgent cares accept walk-in patients. But if you want shorter wait times, you can book an appointment through phone or online.

Can I go to pediatric urgent care for non-emergency?

Yes. You can go to pediatric urgent care for consultations, physicals, primary care, lab tests, and more. We aim to help you and your little at every step of their health care journey.

Can I pay for pediatric urgent care appointment without insurance?

If you have no insurance, we provide our services without insurance for self-pay patients, giving you the care when you need it most.

I’ve been to Nao Medical, I think, three times, and their staff is delightful. If you are in dire pain, they take you in as soon as possible, if not sooner. The offices and exam rooms are spotless. All of the medical staff is very knowledgeable, patient, and understanding. I highly recommend it.

My visits have been fantastic both times I’ve gone. The woman at the front desk was courteous and professional, and prompt. The nurse was excellent. Same treatment as the front desk and the smoothest phlebotomist going. The doctor was great, calm, thorough, polite, and knowledgeable. I wish he were my GP. Overall? 11 out of 10.

My daughter came in with stomach pain, and your doctor was able to diagnose that she probably had appendicitis. I took her to the emergency room, and she did have to have her appendix removed. Thank you so much for your help.

The staff and the doctors were all very kind and caring. I was very worried about my child’s health. I appreciate your clinic being open on Saturdays. This saved us a trip to the ER, which can be scary for a child. Thank you again!
