What is a chem comprehensive test?
A comprehensive chemistry test, also called a comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP), is a test that measures 14 different substances found in your blood. This test helps check the body’s chemical balance and provide information on its metabolism.
What is included in a CMP lab test?
A CMP lab test includes tests for blood sugar levels, electrolytes and fluid balance, and kidney and liver health.
What diseases can a CMP detect?
A CMP can help detect certain medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and kidney disease.
Do I need to fast for a comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP)?
The doctor may suggest 10 to 12 hours fasting before a CMP so that glucose levels won’t reflect sugars from any food or drink you had before the test.
Why would a doctor order a comprehensive metabolic panel?
A comprehensive metabolic panel can test the levels of chemicals in your body, such as blood sugar, sodium, protein, and calcium. It can also help provide information on how your kidneys and liver are functioning.
Are urgent care centers open after hours?
Yes. Most of our urgent care centers are open after hours, making health care more accessible for all residents in NYC.
Should I make an appointment for urgent care?
Not necessarily. Most urgent cares accept walk-in patients. But if you want shorter wait times, you can book an appointment through phone or online.
How long does it take to receive blood test results?
Blood test results may take a few minutes to several days, depending on the type of blood test you get. The health care provider will inform you about when the results will be available and what to expect regarding the results.
Does insurance plan cover all urgent care services?
Most urgent care services are covered by insurance. Please contact your insurance plan provider directly for specific questions related to your coverage, deductible, & plan.
Can I go to urgent care without insurance?
Yes. If you need urgent care and you have no insurance, we offer affordable rates for all health care services we offer.

The staff and the doctors were all very kind and caring. I was very worried about my child’s health. I appreciate your clinic being open on Saturdays. This saved us a trip to the ER, which can be scary for a child. Thank you again!

I’ve been to Nao Medical, I think, three times, and their staff is delightful. If you are in dire pain, they take you in as soon as possible, if not sooner. The offices and exam rooms are spotless. All of the medical staff is very knowledgeable, patient, and understanding. I highly recommend it.

My daughter came in with stomach pain, and your doctor was able to diagnose that she probably had appendicitis. I took her to the emergency room, and she did have to have her appendix removed. Thank you so much for your help.

My visits have been fantastic both times I’ve gone. The woman at the front desk was courteous and professional, and prompt. The nurse was excellent. Same treatment as the front desk and the smoothest phlebotomist going. The doctor was great, calm, thorough, polite, and knowledgeable. I wish he were my GP. Overall? 11 out of 10.
