Any event can have on-site COVID testing, be it indoors or outdoors. It can be events for family gatherings, social get-togethers, corporate parties, school events, and more.
What is the difference between a PCR test and a rapid COVID-19 test?
The difference between a PCR test and a rapid COVID-19 test is that the former takes a few days to get results but the results are more accurate because it can detect small amounts of the virus even when there are no symptoms. The latter, on the other hand, can generate results in as little as 15 minutes but can only detect if the virus is already active in your body.
How accurate are rapid and PCR tests?
Both rapid and PCR tests are accurate. The main difference is that rapid tests can generate results in as little as 15 minutes, making it an ideal option for live events. PCR tests, on the other hand, are more sensitive and can detect the presence of the COVID virus even in smaller samples. Results for these tests, however, will only be available in 3 to 7 days.
Should vaccinated individuals also get tested during events?
Fully vaccinated individuals do not need to get tested during events if they can show proof of their COVID vaccination. In the event that the individual is showing symptoms and is suspected to have COVID-19, he/she will need to get tested before getting cleared for entry.
